Advance Green Energy Solutions LLC (AGES) advocates and recommends a "grid connected" / "grid interactive" solar system, with an Utility Net Metering agreement. Under net metering, a customer is billed on the difference between the energy it consumes and the energy it produces during a billing period. When your solar system produces more than your site utilization, then you are paid for that amount exported to the grid. WE Energies Net Metering program's availability is defined as follows: "The Company’s Net Metering Program is available on a first come, first served basis until the nameplate capacity of all participating generators is equal to the maximum program limit of 1% of the Company’s peak load for the preceding calendar year allocated to include no more than 0.5% for customers generating 20kW or less. Upon enrolling in the Net Metering Program, customers shall be eligible to continue participation for a minimum period of ten years. A participating customer may terminate participation in the Company’s Net Metering Program at any time for any reason."
