Attached Growth Organic Waste Digester
The attached growth digester utilizes an internal chamber that holds media for enhanced bacterial growth. The waste stream passes through the attached growth bacterial chamber exposing the waste to higher concentrations of bacteria as compared to the complete mix digester.

The result is a shorter treatment time the waste is in the digester, and biogas with higher concentrations of methane due to the higher levels of bacteria digesting the waste material.

Attached growth digesters are appropriate for dairy and swine farms that use hydraulic flushing. This type of waste management routinely produces wastes with a total solid concentration of less than 2%. Wastes with a total solid concentration of 5% or more can clog the growth chamber containing the bacteria.
